GYM POLICIES

At Galaxy Cheer & Tumble, we are committed to providing a safe, consistent, and respectful environment for all our athletes. These policies ensure every star has the space to shine and grow within our family.

Introduction

  • Safety is our #1 priority for every child.
  • Consistency helps athletes master skills faster.
  • We value clear communication with our cheer parents.

Behavior & Sportsmanship

  • Treat teammates and coaches with kindness.
  • Listen while coaches are giving instruction.
  • Positive attitudes create a winning environment.

Attendance & Participation

  • Arrive 5 minutes early for warm-ups.
  • Missed practices impact team stunt progressions.
  • Notify us 24 hours in advance if your athlete will be absent.

Safety & Wellness

  • Clean sneakers only on the gym mats.
  • Hair must be secured back for all practices.
  • No jewelry of any kind is permitted for safety reasons.

Gym Rules

  • Water bottles only (no Gatorade or soda) on the floor.
  • Closed Practices. 
  • Always clean up your after yourself before leaving.

Excused Absences
Unexcused Absences
  • Each athlete is allowed 3 unexcused absences during the season. After 3 unexcused absences, the athlete may be removed from the team.
  • Examples of unexcused absences include but are not limited to: Studying for school, Birthday parties, Being grounded from cheer, Family events, Scheduled Doctor appointments, Scheduled Dentist appointments, Non-contagious illnesses, Practice for another sport or activity, Vacations not approved in advance, Missing practice for social events.

Excused absences include contagious illness or illness with fever (Doctor’s note required), school functions that directly impact a grade, death in the family, or emergencies approved by gym ownership. The gym reserves the right to determine whether an absence is excused or unexcused.

Competition Attendance

All competitions are MANDATORY. Missing a competition for any reason may result in removal from the team. Competition schedules are released in advance to allow families time to prepare.

  • All Full Travel Team athletes have the option  to enroll in tumbling classes, it is included in your monthly fees. Privates can also be done. 
  • Flyers are required to participate in a  flexibilty class. Bases/Backspots are required to do the conditioning class.
  • The Conditioning/Flex classes are mandatory for Full Travel  Youth Travel Teams and higher only. 

Tumbling & Conditioning Requirements

Tiny Travel & Limited Travel Exception

Tiny Travel & Limited Travel athletes are welcome to enroll in an additional tumbling class for an additional fee of $35 per month.

Travel Expectations

Families are responsible for all travel expenses including:

  • Hotel stays
  • Transportation
  • Food
  • Competition admission fees

Families are responsible for getting their athlete to and from all practices and competitions.

Gym Conduct & Expectations

Parent & Athlete Behavior

Positive Conduct

  • Parents and athletes are expected to display good sportsmanship, respect, and positive attitudes at all times.
  • Bullying, gossip, drama, harassment, or disrespect will not be tolerated.

Social Media Policy

  • Negative social media posts regarding Galaxy Cheer & Tumble are strictly prohibited.
  • Behavior that negatively represents the gym may result in disciplinary action.
  • Parents must monitor athlete activity.

Competition Standards

Attendance

  • All competitions are MANDATORY.
  • Missing a competition may result in removal from the team.

Appearance & Jewelry

  • Absolutely no jewelry of any kind is permitted.
  • This includes earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, bellybutton rings, etc.
  • Failure to follow rules may result in deductions.

Practice Rules

Attire & Punctuality

  • Athletes must arrive on time and prepared.
  • Shoes, attire, ponytail, and bow are required.
  • Nails must not be over the fingertip and kept clean. NO long fake nails. 

Technology Policy

  • No cellphones are allowed during practice.
  • If a parent needs to contact their athlete, call the gym.or their coache(s).
